The Garden of Eatin’ is gearing up for our fourth season. Much of what will be planted are the vegetables we have successfully grown in the past and that we know the Muscatine County Food Pantry welcomes. However we’re excited about the additions of two new flower beds to attract pollinators. Please watch for an upcoming opportunity to help with tillers and preparation of the beds. Again this year we have monies from the Iowa State University Snap Grant to defray the cost of the beds, vegetable plants and seeds. Along with warm weather eventually come summer vacations. Our hope is for enough willing gardeners to allow all of us to have flexible schedules. Happily we welcome Nancy Keel, Reverend Martha Lang and Janet Martz to our team. There is no limit here, so anyone interested please know you will be very welcomed! There is no set schedule or committed time requirement, you can help as much or as often as your time allows. No skills required, it’s easy to pick tomatoes or water the beds! Please join our other new gardeners and help Terri Hanson, Susan Robinson, Sue Wilder, Rick Crooks and Judy Sebbert with this important ministry.
