During the summer months (Memorial Day through Labor Day) we will rotate through three worship liturgies on Sunday mornings rather than repeating the same liturgy. Don’t worry – we’ve sung all them before! On the fourth Sunday of each month in the summer we will have a festival of hymns and invite worshippers to “stump the organist” by requesting any particularly meaningful hymn from the red hymnal. So have fun when you come to worship this summer and make a joyful noise unto the Lord! The following is the schedule for the three months of summer:
First & Fifth Sunday: Setting Ten, Red Hymnal
Second Sunday: “Now the Feast and Celebration” liturgy from Marty Haugen
Third Sunday: Setting Five, Blue hymnal (WOV)
Fourth Sunday: Hymn Festival, worshippers select hymns that have spiritual meaning for them.
All worship services will include Holy Communion. See you in worship!
Summer Table Worship
“Every Day is a Day of Joy!” This summer for the Table service on Saturday nights at 5:00, We’ll use a new liturgy on the theme of play and joy as we remember that God created the world through play… Children of all ages will be invited to “play” as a part of the worship. “Let us give thanks to God for the joy of jumping rope and the laughter of playing leapfrog on a summer day.” Make sure to come to worship on a Saturday night this summer!
Hymn Fest Sundays
Sunday’s as we praise God with our favorite hymns! You can select a hymn in one of two ways – simply let Pastor Steve know your request, or, request the hymn during the beginning of the worship service! These worship services will be a celebration of hymns, the Word of God, and the Lord’s Supper. Any hymn out of the red hymnal is fair game!
