There are a lot of events going on for Sunday, November 5. Please take a look at the following list:
Daylight Savings Time ends on November 5. Please remember to set your clocks back one hour so you don’t miss worship!
Sunday, November 5 is All Saints Sunday. On this day, we remember and celebrate the witness of faith of God’s Saints who have entered into eternal life. New this year, we are asking all members to bring in photos of loved ones who have died (in a frame what can stand on its own) as a visual reminder of the great cloud of witnesses that join us in our walk of faith. Please bring photos Sunday morning, and you may take them home with you that day.
Zion members will again have an opportunity to help the individuals served by LSI and Lutheran Living to have a nice Christmas. Zion and Grace will team up to provide gifts for the HOPES children and assist with a Christmas dinner party for the families. Social Ministry will have two trees set up on November 5 with angel gift tags. The Hopes staff is making a change in their requests due to budget cuts and philosophy. One tree will have angel tags that indicate the gender and ages (prenatal to 5 yrs.) of the child, requesting an appropriate book of choice and a specific family game. The other tree will have tags requesting diapers and wipes. Please help these families by selecting one or both tags and returning the unwrapped items to Zion by November 26. There will be large boxes beside the angel tree to put gifts in.
